We have talked a little bit (not as much as we should) about the HP Pavilion DM1, also known as the “HP Mini 311 Clone”, but there has not been a whole lot of hands-on. Luckily Peter at Netbooked has an unboxing video to share!
The HP Pavilion DM1 is not yet available in the U.S, but its available in the U.K and apparently in Japan as well: Peter at Netbooked has got himself the dual-core “HP Mini 311 Clone” and posted an unboxing (video below).
Peter’s DM1 configurations are as follows: a dual core 1.2GHz Intel Celeron SU2300 processor (two 1.2GHz CPU’s), integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive as well as a 6-cell battery. As well an HDMI port, and the standards ethernet, 3-usb and 802.11b/g features.
What sets the DM1 and the HP Mini 311 is the CPU, GPU (Graphics) and RAM. The DM1 does not come with the NVidia ION, so its not for gamers. It does however have a dual-core 1.2GHz, meaning two processors each at 1.2GHz. Unfortunately I do not know how it compares with the 1.6GHz and 1.66GHz Intel Atom. Another cool addition to the DM1 is that is can have up to 5GB of DDR3 RAM!
