International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has chosen HP Converged Infrastructure suite to improve its data center infrastructure. However, nothing has been disclosed from either side about the financial deal. HP will support IFAW in meeting the latter’s global demand for charity efforts. HP will sell some of its products – ProLiant DL380 G7 servers, Ultrium 448, 460 SAS tape drives, the 2510 and 2810 network switches, and the Enterprise Virtual Arrays to the charity organization.

HP Converged Infrastructure suite makes handling data center easier, efficient and cost-effective. It uses servers, storage and networking products to manage data centers. 3PAR virtual storage system and data management features for cloud-computing also boost up the HP Converged portfolio.

IFAW, founded in 1969, is one of the world’s largest animal welfare and conservative charities. It was started to put an end to the commercial hunting for white coat harp seals in Canada. IFAW conducts special programs and campaigns to protect the lives of the endangered animals.

Currently, HP Converged Infrastructure solutions are in high demand. Many companies have replaced their old servers with the HP products. In September this year, Spencer Hart (a well known London-based retail tailor), the Department of Water Resources (DWR) California, and Knight Frank LLP- (a renowned property consultant) deployed HP Converged Infrastructure solutions.

Enterprise storage space is becoming very important in a technology-powered world and HP Converged Storage portfolio is the perfect solution. However, right now it faces strong competition from other vendors such as Cisco, Dell, Apple, Acer, etc.
