Windows 7 automated tweaks

Well, it's been about a year and a half, and I think I'm comfortable with the in's and out's of Windows 7.

So I've created two files to automate most of the tweaks I've previously posted on:
Optimizing Win7 for Mini 311

Notes:
- The script turns off all domain and HomeGroup networking, so if you use the Mini 311 as a networked work PC, then don't use it (Note: Does *not* disable wifi/wlan or manually configured networking)
- Turns off audio enhancements
- Doesn't disable some of the more advanced stuff like CEIP, MMCSS, etc.
- Doesn't do AHCI SATA fix (too risky and complicated)
- Only makes changes to services and scheduled tasks
- You must use Administrator-elevated command prompt or Explorer to run the files

Please look at the files in notepad before running it, so you know what they do. If you've previously done the tweaking manually, there's no need to run these files.

The tweaks should be okay on any Win7 PC, as the Mini 311 specific stuff shouldn't cause a problem.

If you run this, *make sure to have a backup* just in case!!!

a small question is there any chance to get a version, so that networking is possible?

i think many 311ers go into wlan for surfing, or am i wrong that it is possible with this tweaks?

metapower, it does not affect regular WLAN/wifi use. Just domain/homegroup networking is disabled. Manually configured (advanced) networking still works as well. I'll edit the first post to clarify that.

As far as Tweaks, I found Windows 7 manager very useful to tweak 7, even in the trial version you can tweak many settings.

Will reinstall 7 soon as I am planning on getting a new HD once I figure out what size fits as I will start a new thread today about it.

The tweaks focus on reducing memory usage and disk activity. I did a lot of monitoring of disk activity to find ways to increase the chipset and hard drive idle time. I can't be sure how much battery life it really saves, but every bit helps.

PS take a look to Easeus Todo Backup. After having installed WIN7 ( 32 & 64 Bit ) with
all drivers, programs, tweaks, etc, I can do a total backup ( partition A & C ) and later
it'll be always possible to restore a perfect and clean WIN7 "all done" in 5 minutes...

Anyway, try this tweak from Joe. This month I'm out of home for work but I'll test it as
soon as possible. Tell me please gains related to it, ok?

Hi you guys, thank you for the welcome, it is good to be back

Will be in and out like Pycon in the next few weeks but will log as often as I can. As I said, I am waiting for new HD today and will reload win 7 and will apply the tweak after all 7's upgrades and then will do more tweaks of my own.

Question for Joe: Is there a way for me to get into your tweak and leaving the audio tweak that you did alone?

Hi Joe,

Don't ask me why but I changed the ACHI or AHCI controller in the bios to RAID and badabooommm, I get the _ on top of the creen even if I try to access the bios... .

Any idea on how to get back to the AHCI controller?
