    USB/SD Boot?

I was looking though the BIOS settings thinking about doing some sort of dual boot of a USB thumb drive, USB hard drive or even SD card, I was thinking about trying out Linux or OSX.. But how could I do that with the hard drive is the only item listed under "bootable device"? I want to be able to boot from USB or Memory Card...

(sorry if this has been brought up before but everything I was searching for came up blank)

I've had no problem booting from USB. i hate to ask this, but is your USB inserted when you look into the bios?

I've installed ubuntu netbook remix, linux mint and even xp via usb. (xp is by far the hardest, though linux mint doesn't seem to want to work with the WLAN.)

    Re: USB/SD Boot?

I had the same issue on my Compaq 110. The BIOS only shows the hard drive as a bootable device. However, when the machine boots up, you can press F10 to enter BIOS or F9 to select the device to boot. I have tried other OS's using this technique.

    Hope this helps.

Yes I can also confirm that the USB boot option is only available if there is a drive plugged in.
