These are my unboxing and install photos. This is an exact replacement for the factory 2GB card. No cutting. Just swap the drives and use the 2GB as a spare. My only complaint is they don't make one bigger than 8GB

If you don't plan on removing it often you can get a slight performance boost by enabling write caching as shown above.

How much did it cost? Did you take off some of the casing for it to fit or does it fit in the recessed port already?

$23.50 direct from Transcend (see sig) - no trimming necessary the 8GB is exactly the same size as the HP 2GB.

you enable write caching on any usb external device to speed it up.

the whole deal was people did not understand that you had to "eject" or "Safely remove" usb drives back in the day. so they defaulted the policy to not write-back which makes things like usb external drives butt slow but safe for folks that can't safely remove before unplugging.

Does the 1035NR come with the 2GB flash drive in the box? Mine didn't come at all...is it already in the system?

I bought this from eBay --- but the guy took out the restore Cd already, and I've contacted him about that.

EDIT: Okay, so from what I'm reading, if my system didn't come equipped with SSD from factory, then I shouldn't be getting this drive, right?

well if you are jipped a 2GB (mine came with nada btw) usb card i wouldn't be so pissed off. thats like what $5 nowadays?

and if you open a chat session with HP they will send you new recovery DVD's all day long.

I've been waiting for the restore CD since the 26th of DECEMBER. They haven't even shipped them out yet. WTF is that about? HP Support BLOWS!
