Hi all,
My touchpad just stopped working, and I can't figure why or how to fix it. I booted into F10 and after that it just didn't come back. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

I called HP and the fix was rather simple but has me wondering if I have a faulty product. They had me disconnect the battery and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then I plugged it in to the Av cord and turned it on. This made the device start working again. She explained that there could be a connection that stores a charge that can just eliminate the recognition of the touch pad till its gone. This has me just a little worried. I just wanted to post this in case someone else encountered this odd problem.

Never heard that before. Have you taken your Mini apart? If so then just recheck the connection. Nothing should be too terribly wrong. If it is then just tell HP and hopefully get it replaced etc.

wow that's weird.. hold the power button.. to off your machine?
Haven't taken it apart just yet... But the power button thing was to kill off any stored charge that the laptop could've had. So weird I think...
Just so happens that this happened to me too. But this was after fixing my dual booting between OSX and Windows. I was like wtf. I found this and tried this and it worked for me. I got scared for a second but now it's working perfectly.

Hi, Had exactly the same issue and this fix does work.
Are folks getting this problem on a regular bases?
I have only had my HP mini for 4 days and if this is going to keep occuring I will be looking to change my netbook.
I have only had to do it once, and it is because I started to tinker with my netbook.
Exact same thing happened to my daughters mini hp110. Tried the battery off, button 30 sec thing and it worked. I wonder if this will be a recurring thing. She has had it for about 6 months and she is pretty rough with it, so I say, Great quality product!! this is the only issue we had with it. We got her a dell mini nickelodeon edition before this one and it didn't last her a week. :geek: Thank you danlindeman for the info!!
I just wanted to post this in case someone else encountered this odd problem.
