Order one of These
Its bluetooth and it just works. runs off two AA's and tells you battery percentage in windows. No drivers needed just works
Its the only above and beyond purchase i've made for my Mini 311 so far and its amazing

Compaq Mini 311 - 1010SA with 9 Cell Battery

The problem isn't with finding a mouse to use instead of the touchpad, its using the onboard keyboard without hitting the touchpad which is the problem. Got any leads on a good semi cheap wireless keyboard and mouse, maybe bluetooth?
The Alps 7.5.303.105 driver has a fix for that. It loses some multi-touch functions though. It didn't mater to me 'cause the multi-touch would always act weird on me.Originally Posted by MiGs

Cool, I'll try it out, I don't care too much for multitouch (its slow, and not that responsive), as long as the touchpad can scroll down with the right side area then its all good for me.Originally Posted by RBSIS
Yeah, it still supports that. And it has this cool spiral scroll thing I like to use when browsing big pages like Engadget.Originally Posted by MiGs

For when I use the 311 on a table with enough space, I am using a mouse, I bought the HP Wireless Confort Mouse for CAD24 in my local WM, it's a "nano" receiver so I can let it always plugged.
see it here:

What I like is the 4 way scroll wheel, you can scroll left/right when a web page is too wide, and the "previous" and "next" button are useful too.

i use that mouse for my DELL STUDIO. is great, good size, nice performance(not a gaming mouse), it has an on/off switch and bluetooth sync button too. nice looking too, and very strong(i drop the thing at least 3 time a day and still works like new). but i love my OROCHI.Originally Posted by Thinkharder

The microsoft Bluetooth Notebook mouse 5000 is what i've bought, but what is srsly needed on the 311 is the possibility to turn of the touchpad![]()
