I have a 2140, but this project seems possible for almost all models of the HP Mini. I have noticed that some of the latest models do not have the glossy plastic covering the display itself, rather just the border around it. It makes a huge, beneficial difference. My 2140 would love to see clearly, or at least I'd love to see it clearly.

I've done some digging and comparing of models and part numbers. It looks like HP part 537650-001 would fit onto a 2140 or 1000 that came with the full glossy cover. This cover will leave the display area exposed. The LCD itself is already anti-glare. The ONLY downside I've seen is that HP charges $70 for the part. <Eek!>

Has anyone done this or thought of it?
