Since the HP mini only needs 30watts of power. I have seen several Solar Power panels capable of putting out 30 watts.
Anyone seen one that I can either plug my AC adapter into, or maybe plug directly into my HP Mini?

I am going to do a little research on this.
The main reason I want a solar charger for my laptop, is that when I go camping I don't want to leave the inverter on overnight while it charges my laptop. As the Inverter (2500 watt) will run down the battery on my truck!
Yes, I know..... No sun at night.. but when I use the mini1000 during the day, I can run it off the solar panels & thus no need to charge at night.

Anyone know if this will work? with or without mods?

No! You need something putting out 30 watts, and right now that means that something a little bigger than a cellphone is not going to work.Originally Posted by jimmirehman
I'd be quite surprised if that Innergy solar panel puts out anything *close* to 30 watts in a "typical" environment -- it's just nowhere near big enough. Realistically I'd guesstimate that you'd get perhaps 10 watts out of it on a reasonably sunny day, but that's still plenty to, e.g., charge your netbook during the day and use it a few hours at night, or whatever. (Note that your mini is only consuming close to 30 watts if it's doing something "CPU intensive" with the LCD brightly lit and hard drive running... an "idling" mini that's just being used for, e.g., word processing draws closer to 15-20 watts.)
