Assuming you've not deleted the Windows XP Home your Mini came with, here is how to reinstall windows again w/o the need of an external optical drive:

    Start > My Computer > Local Drive (C > I386 > "Double Click" WINNT32.EXE
    Run config as normal.

This should also reinstall all your drivers and past apps that came with it.

Re: Guide: How to factory restore Windows XP Home on Mini

    Hello everyone!

Been trying to restore XP but for some reason I am stuck at a blank black screen with a cursor on the top left hand side. Any idea on how to configure it? I was able to open WINNT32.EXE and went through it but when it self restarted, I got the blank black screen and now stuck. Please help, thank you!

Question: does using the Start > My Computer > Local Drive (C > I386 > "Double Click" WINNT32.EXE method hose your applications and setups? As in, do I need to backup and later reinstall my applications (Firefox, etc.)? Or does it do the upgrade non-destructively?

    Yeah!

I tried it and it works fine, it works like the well known "recovery point" that every computer has (except our one)

But I didnt like it at all, because remains the folder "Programs Files" as you left it before the restore, so I needed to delet everything of this folder by myself... :S

    Any solution to this?
