    Smile Remapping keys for PgUp/PgDn

One thing I've found inconvenient on the Mini 311 is the lack of separate Page Up and Page Down keys. For reading and surfing, having to hold down the fn + arrow key to page up/page down is annoying. So I finally decided to remap some keys using SharpKeys.

I remapped the right Shift key as PgDn and Right Ctrl to PgUp. Now I have the arrow keys, page up and page down all conveniently clustered together on one hand.

Personally, I find losing the extra Shift and Control keys aren't a big deal on a smaller keyboard. There are other keys that could be remapped, but those two make the biggest difference for me.

    Hope it helps!

That is brilliant, and it works flawlessly.

    Thanks!

    Re: Remapping keys for PgUp/PgDn

Quick update... I switched PgUp to the menu key between right-alt and ctrl, and PgDn to right-ctrl.

It seems I instinctively reach for the right-shift key for colon, quote, etc., so had to change it.

I don't think it's possible because the Fn key is not mappable. The Fn key is controlled on the keyboard itself, so the OS never "sees" it from what I understand. :?

No, I honestly didn't know. Thanks!

But I'm not gonna change it back. I need PgUp/PgDn on different keys than the arrow keys without using two hands. If HP had put Fn keys on both sides, it wouldn't be a problem. :?

Most people probably already know this, but I just recently discovered it. Makes me feel like one of those people that goes their whole life without knowing Alt-Tab: You can use the spacebar as PgDn when browsing the web, and you can use Shift-spacebar as PgUp.

The shift-spacebar is still a bit of a pain, so remapping a key would still be helpful.

Am I the only one that LIKES page up & down on the arrow keys? (along with Home & End) I think that's better and makes sense to me. I find myself wishing it was that way on a normal keyboard now because it's intuitive.

Oh. Thanks for the info. I don't know it either. BTW, after I press and release the Fn button, if I press the down arrow multiple times, will all the keystrokes become PgDn, or only the first one?

BTW, do you think it is possible to remap the right shift button together with down arrow as PgDn as well?
