Question: HP Battery check needed for Win7?

I've just installed Win7, the battery just reports % left, whereas on my 'full' notebook, I get an indication of time left.

If I install the HP Battery check from here, will I get time remaining indication in Windows 7?

    cheers,

It may need time to examine your battery. Give it a little while, and then see. If it is still not working in 5-6 recharge cycles, then you may have a problem.

    Anyway, good luck

It didn't work for me on XP and it doesn't work on 7. But I don't really mind, since the time is always estimated and pretty far from reality.

I only get battery charge % listed, no time remaining readout. I never got a time readout on the original XP install neither. My % readout is accurate in Win7 though.

Windows needs a while to collect some data on your battery.

I assume Windows takes the average of the first few drains/charges, then returns you a number.
