Problems With Watching Video on iTunes

I just bought an HP 2140 last week.

It is running Vista Home Basic, 2 GB memory, 160 GB hard drive 5400 RPM.

I am having problems with iTunes playing downloaded video. The video stutters and stops - making video unwatchable.

I am wondering if other people are having the same problem and what configurations of the 2410 play iTunes video correctly? Is the problem Vista? Would the SSD drive perform better? What about the 7200 RPM hard drive?

Or is there something I can do with my configuration to make iTunes work?

I was having the same problem with the Mini 1035nr and i found that they seem to run smoother if you open them with Quicktime as opposed to Itunes
