OS X Loaded but no DSDT Patch fail.

I know there is another thread on a similar problem but I didn't see the answers I was looking for.

I have successfully installed iDeneb 10.5.5 onto the HP 110 - 1140SA, followed the guides and everything worked apart from the DSDT Patcher which as many have experienced said 'failed....'. Despite this everything is working including sleep mode, the camera and wifi.

Things that aren't working (that I know of) are the volume up and down as well as the screen brightness buttons.

My questions are what am I missing by not having the DSDT Patcher installed, is it important for the install? It seems that downgrading the Bios is the solution, but is this possible now that I have installed OS X onto the Mini?

By not having the DSDT patcher you can't upgrade to 10.5.7 or higher. Not necessarily a big issue. I am quite happy having my mini at 10.5.5 but would like to have the ability to go to a higher version at some point. I am however a little scared at it works great at 10.5.5 and don't really want to mess things up.

It's a gift so my girlfriend is quite keen to have it 'up to date' as such. Can anyone else shed any light on these problems?

I get exactly the same thing - DSDTPatch GUI states that the build has failed and that there is info in the session log, but I don't know where to find that
