hiyas. ive read a lot about OCing my mini 311 (1025nr) i have modded the heatsink with copper shims, modded for external wireless (a real must have in my line of work), been overclocking with the software for quite some time. i finally had the time to take the step to crack the bios and begin to OC thru that.
heres what ive been able to do so far.
with default memory (2gb, 1gb onboard 1gb HP chip) i have been able to chanage the Bios' mem ratio to 4:5, then overclocked thru software, but really this was just aproof of concept as i had gotten a 2gb g.skill 1333 stick i really wanted to play around with
i have been able to set ratio to 2:3 and then thru software easily set fsb to 166. setting CPU to 2.0ghz. rock solid, no issues whatsoever.
i dont have all the paperwork inforont of me atm, but i was able to oc it to 1 point below 2.2ghs. think thats 182 fsb.
that right there i dont quite understand, at 2:3 ratio it should put my memory at 1100, thats below the speed of my memory. isnit it?
"2.2Ghz | 183Mhz | 733 | 512+221 | 3:2 | 1100"
but whats really kind of odd to me, is the 2.0ghz speed, i am not able to run thru the bios. i leave it in linked, set to 512+152, 2:3 ratio,
"2.0Ghz | 166Mhz | 666 | 512+152 | 3:2 | 1000"
im not able to boot. i have to remove the memory have, restart, revert settings in bios, and then reinstall mem to get things back to normal.
i dont quite understand. if i can stay that way thru software no issues, why would it not work thru the bios?
i dont want to sound ungreatfull or pushy, but i work in the offshore oil industry, so a speedy answer would be fantastic as i dont get much time on land. let alone much time at home with all the tools ard resources.
thankyou
