    My HP Pavilion DM1 Arrived

    Hey guys,

I got my HP Pavilion DM1 today, here in Japan. Went on sale yesterday. Up for pre-order in the UK. Not out in the US yet.

    I have a model with an Intel Celeron SU2300 (1.2GHz, dual-core) processor, 2GB RAM,250GB HDD,b/g Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth and Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit.

Now I am interested in seeing how this compares to the HP Mini 311.

So far thumbs up for being very quiet (the quietest 11.6-incher I've used so far), having a solid keyboard and the superb Altec Lansing speakers. Touchpad buttons are incredibly loud and stiff; this would easily cause some embarrassment in certain public places I imagine. Going through battery tests at the moment.

    Gratz!

Saw your unbox vid, which is almost identical to a Mini 311 boxing.

Seriously the specks read the same as the Mini 311 except the CPU/GPU. Even has the 1Gb Ram soldered in!

If it had the ION it would be my dream (apart from the price).

    mini 311c (1010SA), ION (fixed LE), 3Gb ram (1066), OC 2.2GHz (unlinked), H15 Bios, Win7 & TrueCrypt
    Alienware M11x, Core i7, OC 160, 4Gb ram, 500mb HDD, Win7-64bit & TryeCrypt
    Asus 701, 2Gb ram

Oh, you silly Japanese. That's definitely the least embarrassing thing I can think of.

Same case, different CPU (dual core low voltage thing) and Intel grafix. Oh and more moneys.

Click the buttons closer to the centre They feel much more positive and are quieter. You can also use tapping and touchfreeze to prevent the tapping while typing.

As for embarrassment factor I'd much less rather have some sort of trojan virus that makes a porn video play out at loud volume to try get me to pay for one of those sort of sites. (Had a website load a similar sort of MP3 up in my browser once on a non-porn site and my girlfriend wasn't impressed, lol.)
