    Mini VGA Adapter ordered

So, I tried to see if HP had the adapter available and just was not advertising it. I started an online chat and was able to order the part. The part number is 512315-001, for the Mini VGA adapter. The good news is I was able to order it, should be here by March 18th. The bad news is the part is $75. With shipping and tax, it was $90. That is pretty steep, but I need the part for presentations.

Had I known that the HP would cost this much after adding the VGA and 6-cell battery, I would have went with the Samsung NC10.

that is absurd. the VGA cable should only be $20-$30 from HP, and a 3rd party one should only be a few bucks. Hopefully some of these will make their way onto ebay soon and we can get them on the cheap

i need the part for presentations too, but a Dell Mini 9 netbook comes with a VGA port and only cost me $200 i''ll switch to that.

HP has really got to do better that this... $20-30 tops indeed.

@mdex, well when you get it please give us your impressions of the projector quality for the vga cable. i really hate to pay that much for a cable, however i also hate having to maintain an extra laptop just for presentations. then again i hate to have to lug around an extra cable. why couldn't they have just put the connector on there? i don't need a complete expansion port, that thinking doesn't make sense either. *sigh*

just another way for HP to get more money off us. They usually have fair deals, imo, so i think it'll go down eventually. $75 for an adapter is just plain ridiculous. It's like how Monster still gets away with selling $100 HDMI cables when you can buy one with equal performance for $10.

tough economy calls for even rougher prices....

The pricing on this cable is absurd to say the least...
