mini 5102 which is faster, XP or Win7 starter

Does anyone know wether the 5102 runs faster with XP than Win7 starter?
I just bought one w/ 7 and it seems slower that it should.

I found a utube where the "tech" suggested pulling the Norton anti virus to help improve performance and suggested going to 2gb of ram from 1gb.
I'll take your suggestion till I can't improve this sluggish performer.
I am amazed that when I scroll down a web page the "win7 version of the hour glass"
appears and then after that the screen finally moves down. Yikes!
