    Mini 1000 leather case thoughts

I'm looking at a leather book type case for my Mini.
The two I have found are from PDair and carrymobile:

    http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_in ... s_id=13655
    http://carrymobile.com/scripts/main/vie ... -HP1K.html

There are also demos of these on youtube.

Does anyone own either of these and/or have a opinion either way?
Any experience with either of these vendors other products quality?

    Thanks -

I've been interested in one of these but I think I want something that I can carry the power adapter with.

Still can't decide. That said if the youtube videos are the same ones I've seen they crack me up. Bandaged hand and the other one looks like a spastic version of a The Price Is Right girl.

Yes the youtube links are funny.

I'm starting to think along the lines of two cases of different sizes might be the way to go.
One case, a leather book type for basic office/home use and then a larger case with pockets for travel and extended use.
I am a bit disappointed with the shape/size/location of the 6 cell provided by HP so I'm tring to think of other solutions for extra power.
I am however very happy with the size and weight of the mini as it is now and do not wish to change that for basic use.
So my thinking is to try and add a case like this:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 8026347537
and add a external battery like this in the case for extended use:
    http://www.calcellular.com/ext-lap-batt ... agodpxyQbA

So I would have the extra battery in the case and when the Mini is not in use, have it plugged in and charging. My guess is that I would then have 8-10 hours away from the plug. Also there then would be room in the larger case for all the cords and other items.
Also this battery will enable me to charge other items in the same scheme.
If I run this through some use cases at home or a regular day at the office I just take the mini and a nice leather case around, no problems. When on the road the mini in the leather case, cell phone (with Wifi tether software), SD and Thumb drives would just slip into the larger case and everything is ready to go, when needed or on a flight I just have the mini plugged into the battery as a charging source.
So I guess back to my why I was wondering about these cases, just trying to find the 'nicest' one.

So I think I'll execute on the above plan in some fashion.

Yes I saw this on onouther post here and looked at it. Problem seems to be the size.
Will not hold enough juice IMHO, this was designed for a windows moblle handheld so has enough power to recharge that device, I think twice, from the specs. Other options hold much more power, the one I listed holds 3x more other I have seen go way higher.
I guess it a weight/size vs. intened usage.

I could proably carry a couple of 8Ds like I have on my boat and get all kinds of power.

    Get what pleases you most...but...
    You do the math...

7200 mAh capacity battery my suggestion...

    Capacity: 6600 mAh yours

suggest you review ohms law as it relates to power....

Re: Mini 1000 leather case thoughts

That's odd I tried to look up some specs on the device you listed and could find very little
information, what I read was 2600mAh not 7200??? Where are you reading this? 7200mAh would be great but I couldn't find that.
Also could find no information or physical size or any other information about battery chemistry, charge voltage, output voltage, output options etc. Don't even know if it would charge a Mini, it just didn't say other that it was made for a SoMo.

It looks to me like the shape of the pack is something link a 2 or 4 pack of D batteries?
But now that you bring it up, I could find no information at all on the size, I don't know why I get that impression.

Anywho, I ordered the CarryMobile leather book case so when that arrives I will then make a selection on the travel case and at that point I will select a battery pack that fits that form factor the best. I guess I could go the other way around a select my case based on my battery size, but I think I want to go with form and not function on that decision.

Thanks again for your input, a web page with specs on that battery pack would be great.

Yeah lets go back to the topic here...

I was also considering this leather book-type cases, but i never saw anything that would give any sufficient ventilation to the RAM area of the mini, which is the one that heats up the most... and those of us with leather car seats know how HOT leather gets.

So i went with a bag instead.

This would be a great case if there was a mini-equivalent.
