Laptop Screen Cover and Silicone Keyboard cover

Ok so I just received the items from Ebay. I hate UCSD's mail sorting service, they are incredibly slow.

First off, the product itself is pretty good quality, but I will warn everyone against paying as much as I did ($17) for the combo screen cover and silicone Keyboard.

The screen cover is comprised of 3 pieces, an adhesive protector, the cover, and another protector. Essentially I peeled the adhesive protector off, applied it to the screen with a credit card, and then I took off the cover on the other side.
The screen protector is scratch resistant and it leaves a 3-4 mm border around the edge of the LCD part of the display. Overall reflectivity remains the same.

The Keyboard cover is the same one as the Mini 1333, and it seems like it will take a bit of time to sit completely flush against the keyboard. It has a great velvety feel and it mutes the sound of the keyboard, but unfortunately its around 2-4 mm too large so when you close the screen it won't go down all the way and there will be a crack.

My goal in buying this was to protect my screen (I don't care that much about my keyboard) and it should help keep my screen free of any scratches from the keyboard (which occur over time).

My recommendation is just to buy the screen cover by itself.

    Enjoy the pics,

Could you post a picture of the mini closed with the keyboard cover on? I want to see how much of a gap it creates between the keyboard and the screen.

my camera is having issues, but anyhow, I recommend NOT getting the silicone keyboard cover and getting the screen protector instead. Obviously 7 bucks is a lot to shell out and if you can find a cheaper one for a larger screen, just cut it down to the right dimmensions.

I'd suggest watching your temps with the keyboard cover on, I found the primary intake for the fan is in the keyboard...

Next projects: WiFi Antennas, CF harddrive, and replacing the mic and webcam.
