iDeneb 1.3 - HP Mini 110

Howdy,
I know that i should have prowled the forums looking for similar topics first but this is just a quickee before I head to college:

I installed iDeneb on my HP Mini 110 over the weekend as a bit of a 'Something-To-Do' project after a few attempts got a nearly 100% working install and I'm loving it so far, just 2 problems that I'm actually wanting to fix:

I have no control over the audio volume, it seems 'pre-set' to a certain level, (any specific kexts that'll work?)
I cannot adjust the brightness of the screen, which affects my battery life, not a major problem, but still...

If there's anything that I can do to fix these problems I'd very much appreciate the help/guidance.

Ooook then, Well the only problem i've got at the moment is the fact that the booting up isn't really reliable, it never boots up into OSX first time, usualy hangs at the 'apple grey screen' and i have to do a hard reboot, usually works the second time but sometimes takes 3/4 attempts, not a major issue but dam annoying, any possible fixes?

Upgrade to 10.5.8 and then reinstall all the kexts (graphics may be wonky). This solved a few of my issues, including the boot-up issue.
