HP Mini 110 XP in europe?

Lefty, you can came to buy Compaq mini 110c from Finland. They are just now selling it hot for 299 eur (6 cell model). For some reason you can find it for that price in department stores etc. but not from computer stores. I just bought myself one.

The HP Mini 110 differs quite a bit from Compaq mini 110c AFAIK. The Compaq does not have HD-screen option, or 3G/HD-Accelerator option, nor the slightly newer Atom 280. Compaq mini is also available in Sweden. Thanks anyway though

Eg. this service manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01757461.pdf shows that HP Mini 110 and Compaq Mini 110 are actually the same machine. But you are right in that sense, that Compaq mini 110 is available in just one fixed configuration (10.1" 1024x576 WSVGA/N270/1GB/160GB/Windows XP Home), and you cannot get it with hi-res screen or Atom 280 processor, at least not here in Finland.

They started surfacing in retail computer stores in the Netherlands for about 299 euros little over a week ago.

It helps to shop around a little, some stores sell them for 289 and online they are offered for about 260. I ended up buying mine for 299 (wanted it fast, stocks were depleted at the cheaper stores) and to my surprise it came with 2GB factory-installed rather than just 1Gb. There's some confusion regarding the brand with some stores -they tend to refer to it as the HP mini 110 even though it's clearly branded as Compaq

No, it's clearly what veekoo mentioned previously: the Compaq mini 110 lacks the BTO niceties that the HP mini has -so no option to upgrade path to the N280, no HD screen and no Broadcom Crystal HD card. At this moment in the Netherlands HP only sells the HP Mini 1000 in the Vivienne Tan edition -no 110 as of yet.

Huh. Last week they only mentioned the 1010SD on the dutch HP/Compaq website, now I see they just quietly introduced the Compaq Mini 110c 1030ED.

In a nutshell: double the battery (6 cell), double the warranty (2 years) and WWAN installed for a hundred bucks more (399 euros) when compared to the 1010SD.

I'm getting the idea that there are more 10xx xx model designations for the 110c than there are zip codes in the Netherlands
