Is there any other way to have 1366 x 768 screen resolution besides installing the broadcom HD decoder?
I saw the price (quite affordable) but I am very afraid of opening up my HP Mini 110 to install that decoder

I don't understand your question?
I'm typing this on my mini110 with the HD screen, it works fine, but I didn't order the decoder in it as I don't use it to watch movies...
I have HP Mini 110 with an SD screen (1024 x 576). I was thinking is there any way other than buying the optional Broadcom HD Video Decoder to increase my screen resolution from (1024 x 576) to (1366 x 768) ?
Oh btw with my SD screen (1024 x 576) can I actually install the optional Broadcom HD video decoder?
If you only have the standard screen, then you can’t do anything to increase the resolution. The maximum that the standard screen can display is 1024x576 regardless of whether you have the Broadcom HD card.
You can install the Broadcom card if you wish, and it will help when watching movies (currently only with the video software provided by HP), but it won’t change the resolution that your screen can display. I’ve fitted the Broadcom card to an HP Mini 1000, and that was fairly easy. The hardest bit was actually getting the front cover off the netbook; other than that it’s just a case of opening it up and slotting the card into its place.
Nothing that you do will get you the higher resolution enless you purchase the higher resolution screen and add it yourself. The card itself just helps to play HD movies on your computer. It really doesn't do much of anything other than that. It doesn't help Youtube or anything either. Just works using HP's software.
