Hi!
I have a compaq mini 700, with 60gb toshiba normal hdd (non ssd). After 4-5 months of purchasing this product, my hdd start dying (too many bad sectors, bsod etc).
so i decided to buy a new one to replace it. I live in Greece and i couldn't find any internal 1.8" hdd with zif connector, but i found an external hdd, an transcend StoreJet 18M (TS120GSJ18M) and after searching in the internet i found that it aso uses a 1.8" hdd with zif connector.
So i bought it.
Inside the case i found a Toshiba MK1231GAL hdd. I opened my laptop, i replace the hdds, and when i boot up my machine, it finds the new installed hdd, but it stucks, and after a while it says: "Primary Master Hard Disk Error", and to press F1 to continue.
When i press F1, it goes to the bios, where i can't find my hdd.
The strange is:
I connected an external cd, inserted a cd with MHDD, and after all the above procedure (hdd error), i started MHDD, which there it finds my hdd but cannot do anything else!!!
I inserted a windows 7 installation disk, and the setup is starting, until the hdd selection, it shows my hdd, and when i select the hdd so as to install the windows there, it says that you can't install windows in this disk because you must enable bios to boot from this disk (i don't remember exactly, if you want i can reproduce this error and write it to you).
Can you hep me????
On this forum i didn't saw anyone putting in an hp mini 1000 or compaq mini 700 an hdd over 60-80gb. Could it be the bios to not recognize that sizes (120gb)? If yes can i do something with bios so as to recognize it correctly? Or it is something else that i am missing??
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Regards
