Headset jack issue (?), and adpater?

First post here. I got my Mini a few days ago. Pretty happy with it! Only using it as a "desktop toy"...

One thing, is that I had an issue with my headphone jack some days ago. I plugged my earbuds in, and low and behold no sound! When I took the plug out, the speakers would emit sound. I took the battery out, then put it back in, and that seemed to fix it.

Any ideas what might have caused it?

Also does anyone know where I can get a single plug, to mic/headphone adapter?

From what I've heard, you can use the headphones that come with the iphone in the single jack configuration as it has a microphone and headphones on a single connector.
The headphones not working must have been caused by a setting or something that reset when you turned it off.

Are they any traditional headsets that will work? I don't really like the iphone headset...

I wish someone would make a simple splitter. 1 combo plug, to one mic, and one headset.

Ebay is your friend. I bought a headphone adapter that has a built in microphone (for iPhone) for $2.38 including worldwide shipping. Works like a charm.

you have to push pretty hard with my mini to get the headphones all the way in

i thought i had the same problem at first, and i was afraid to put the headphones all the way in

eventually i manned up and did it, and it works fine
