Currently the GPU can be overclocked easily using nVidia System Tools. I OC'd my GPU to 500mhz and it was stable. Didn't run any benchmarks or try games though.

nVidia System Tools can't OC the CPU... it says the modification failed... so we'd like to try setFSB which was used to OC the MSI netbooks in the past... but we need to know the right setting for our motherboard.

Once we find a way to mess with the CPU's FSB, it should work for both N270 and N280 people =)
SetFSB should do it, as long as the clock generator is supported...

WD-40, that's what we're hoping for, but none of knows what the clockgen for the 311 motherboard is (yet)

Go have a gander at my teardown in this forum section. On the full size images you might be able to make out the clockgen. I can always tear it apart again and find out what it is when I get home on Monday.

Tell me about it. I haven't been able to figure out what it is on the 110 yet either. :|
I'm not quite ready to open mine up...

Where are the overclocking options in the nVidia System tools? I see my current GPU speed at 450 mhz, but I don't see any way to increase it.

    Thanks

You have to click the "GPU" button, and then select the option to use custom settings instead of factory settings, then use the slider to increase the clock, or type in the value manually.

anyone test the real world performance increase on overclocking the gpu? Care to share their experiences

Re: Overclock the CPU and/or GPU

You gain like 2fps in some games when the GPU is running at 580MHz core and 1260MHz shader. That's the most I could get to without having everything crash after 5 minutes.

Most of the games (about 95% of those that I tested at least) gained nothing from the higher overclock.

Lowering the clockspeed will definitely drop performance in some games, though, and will also drop HD playback performance significantly.
