No such luck, though I did order about a week after you did. I ordered the HD screen, 2GB ram, 160gig hd, stock wifi, and 6 cell.

I got my spare 6 cell already, can't do much with it other than to pretend what it'll look like with the rest of the computer.

Yeah, I'd love to get OS X on mine. I haven't had a chance to try and load it yet but I think we're going to suffer from a lack of drivers for our sound card.

Installing OS X is going to be the first thing to do with it after installing an X25-M SSD.

There's a few people in this forum thread who have been playing around with the OS X installs, sound isn't a problem since it's the same card as the 2140:

    Mark,
I was able to get windows 7 working ok on it.
The only extra driver i installed was the broadcom driver from the hp web site.
Everything else is stock standard windows 7. (wifi works/webcam/sound etc... so i never tried any of the other drivers)

I now have windows 7 and osx dual booting.
(wifi doesnt work in osx yet)

    cheers,
    Mike.

Re: Anybody else order from HP?

Firstly sorry for posting installation steps in the "where to Buy" Forum.

Have you given up completely on windows 7 ?
I did my install from a USB thumb 8GB one that I had here.
Basically you make the thumb drive bootable and then copy all the files from the ISO onto it.
Then if I remember correctly I did the following for single booting (dual boot is a bit more complex):
    a) change the SATA mode in the bios of the 5101 (else windows 7 installer didnt recognise my hard disk)
    b) plug in usb thumb drive turn on mini hit F9 during power up to select alernate boot device, which is the usb thumb drive
    c) when it wants to partition the drive i deleted all partitions and re created and formated just one.
    d) do the install
    e) once fully installed then boot up, plug in another thumb drive that I had copied the sp43743.exe file I downloaded from HP (broadcom driver for vista)
    f) insall the driver and reboot
    g) wifi works go and install any windows 7 updates and everything seems to work

If you still have problems drop me a personal message here and lets see if we can work it out.
Oh also if you then decide u want to try dual booting.

    cheers,
    Mike.
