I agree, but 9 hours of battery life is damn impressive.

The best part of this netbook is that it has a new chip & chipset: Atom N280 & GN40. I looked all over the internet and there is hope that this will help the otherwise limited graphics performance the standard Atom N270 & chipset that our minis and all other netbooks have.

I am hoping that the HP Mini 2140 HD version is given either this chipset (Atom N280 1.66ghz & GN40) or the much praised Nvidia Ion (Atom N270 1.6ghz & GeForce 9400M).

That is why i asked in the much ignored topic whether the current Atom Chipset could handle HD on the 2140, everyone agrees that the integrated graphics with the current atom chipsets are not good enough.

First previews state that there is no noticeable performance gain...

Hmmm...I just read a review which said 1080p HD video was choppy on it just like the older EEe 1000 with the N270.

I am starting to wonder whether the EEE 1000HE actually has the improved GN40 chipset...neither laptopmags 'pre'-review nor the Asus site say anything about it. I'll look into it a little more.

I still like the 2140. Design is 10 times better. I almost bought the EEE (the 1000HA) the other day but decided to buy an external hard drive instead and wait for the hD screen on the 2140 to come out. Even if its a lot more expensive, it definitely has all the features i want in a netbook (excluding maybe extra power but that is more a want than a need).
