    dual booting? anyone?

I've finally got 10.5.6 osx running, but i would love to have xp running as well. I have a 60gb HD so i've got room for it. anyone had any success with this? I cant find any tutorials on the forum on how to do this. There's plenty of tutorials with other netbooks, but i cant find any for the hp mini.THANKS!

No experience with OSX, but I'm dual booting XP and Ubuntu 9.04.

Looks like there's some good resources for dual booting OSX here, though...

Ditto on the 8 GB in the mini port and I am interested in dual booting XP and 7.

dual booting Win 7 and UNR 9.04 at the moment - works a treat. Tried to do the same with OSX, but could not get the boot disc recognised ....

    Triple booting.

Booted Ubuntu Jaunty and used gparted to shrink the XP under 8Gb. (Removing some of the junk apps and shrinking or removing the pagefile - I put a 2Gb stick in mine - will allow it to be even smaller).

    I have the 1151NR so I have an 80Gb.

With Ubuntu, you can install grub, and it will do multi-boot by using the chainloader.

    But to the dualboot:

I installed OSX. I haven't tried this, but it should be possible to copy the first 1024 bytes from the OSX partition to C:\macboot.img and use the XP bootmanager by adding C:\macboot.img="HPaQintosh" to the operating systems sections of boot.ini.

OSX itself (or perhaps it is chameleon) will find XP if it is there so if you hit return during the boot, you will get a menu with XP, Mac, and any linux it can find.

Note it is also possible to use "SuperDuper" to copy a bootable image of an OSX install to the SD card though you have to do one extra step manually - the boot sectors. You would need to copy the first 1024 bytes from the disk OSX partition to the SD card after SuperDuper (dd should work but I did it under linux).

I installed OSx on it, formating the partition a new. Then once my setup completed, used Gparted to shrink current Hackintosh smaller and created new partition with free space.

Then boot with windoz cd to install to new partition! Don't forget to use fat32 if you want to be able to see your windoz partition from Mac!
