I can't decide, I don't need it for games, I just need the best peformance on Windows 7, which is best for my needs?

There's a good discussion about the DM1 in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=2640
Apparently the DM1's cpu is dual core, and even at the 1.2GHz clock speed, each core individually has more computing power than an Atom cpu.
Sure thing, I'm just relaying what I read. 8-) You can see how it makes for confusing marketing though...
It does seem that people universally agree that the ION is a better graphics platform though. I seems like the DM1 can partially make up for this in CPU power, but which machine is best might just come down to how you plan to use it.
Clockrate matters little in this comparison. The SU2300 will just plain demolish the Atom N270/N280.

But the Nvidia 9400M (ION) is twice the GPU that the Intel GMA X4500MHD (GS45) is.

Still, if all you want is a netbook with a decent processor, and a dual core one at that, with 3/4/5GB RAM instead of the ridiculous amount that Atom-equipped rigs get, then the dm1 is a decent choice by all appearances.

Yeah those are based off the core2 platform and will eat the atom for breakfast.
go for the dm1 it have much batter cpu than the atom!
