One of my first posts here. I've seen a few posts about vinyl covers for the lids of the 311, but usually people are buying skins from websites online. Here is my DIYable alternative, and a nicer solution IMO.
My main reason for wanting to cover the lid is to prevent the fingerprint marks and micro scratches on the glossy lid of the 311. Also commercial alternatives I found do not go all the way to the edge of the lid and just don't look as badass as CF. 8-)
Here I used 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl I picked up from a marketing company who often uses it to vinyl wrap car hoods and roofs. This stuff is actually a little harder to apply around corners because it is pretty thick.
Unfortunately I didn't think of taking photos of the process, but it isn't very difficult.
