Hello. I live in Italy and I'm about to purchase an HP Mini 311 (called HP 311C here). I wanted to know, how is the display on this thing?
Before this, I had an Acer 1810TZ, wich was pretty powerful compared to an usual Atom netbook (think twice as powerful), but the screen on that thing was HORRENDOUS. It was an Auptronics or something like that (don't remember) and it was a complete p.o.s. The screen basically had no viewing angle, from whatever angle you watched it, the colors and especially blacks, would be either washed out or almost "inverted". the best angle on that thing delivered half of the screen pretty much ok and the other half washed out, with the very top almost inverted. So, how is the screen on the HP Mini 311? Try to open paint and make a fullscreen black image. Is the black uniform or half washed out? Please answer, this is very important for me, the Acer had a screen so bad I had to return it because it was unusable for me (I'm VERY picky when it comes to screens), and I wouldn't want to get a less powerful netbook with the same problem. Also, if you have your HP mini with you, press winkey+r and type devmgmt.msc, right click displays (or screens) and go on the details tab. On that page, select Hardware ID and post it here. I know that Auptronics has codes that starts wit AUO, Samsung starts with SEC, etc. You can find the manufacturer of your display by searching the code on Google.
Many thanks in advance.
