    charging led blinks orange

i have the 2140 for a few months, but it came with 3 cell battery so yesterday i bought a new 6 cell battery. i swapped the batteries, pluged in the power adapter and it's been charging until half an hour ago (so around 24 hours). the problem is that after i unpluged the power adapter the charging led started blinking orange. it never happened before with the old battery, what does this mean? i'm on battery the last 30 minutes and it's still blinking.
and what do the blue and orange colors mean when charging? first it's orange, then it changes to blue, and in the end it turns off.
    thanks

    Doesn't sound good...

You could try downloading BatteryBar, and checking what it says for the capacity, charge state, battery wear percentage, etc.

sorry for late reply, but i was having problems with my mobile internet (forgot to pay the bill).
anyhow, i downloaded the program (great thing btw). it doesn't say that there is something wrong, but after the battery reach the 48.719 mWh of 48.719 mWh (meaning it's completely charged) the status is still in "charging".
also, the battery runs just for 3.5 hours with brightness on minimum and wireless on. i don't know if this is of any importance, but the battery is made in china. i couldn't find any store that has original hp mini batteries. the laptop just dies when the battery reach 35-36%. it goes slowly down, it says there is more than 5 hours left, but after it says there's around 1.5 hours left- it just turns off like i have cut the power, and it doesn't want to power on again until i plug the charger or change the battery.
the orange led continues to blink all the time when there is no charger connected.

If it helps mine only runs about 3.5 hours as well but the time left reports correctly. It looks like your battery runs for the proper time and the netbook is just reporting time left incorrectly.

3.5 hours seems pretty good for the 3 cell battery. However, if it dies at 35%, you likely need to do a recal. The instruction are in the HP tech support site.
