    Broadcom HD Accelerator Resolution

So my broadcom HD accelerator arrived yesterday. I popped it in, installed the drivers and now have a few concerns.

1.For people that have the HP mini 210 HD, what is the maximum display resolution?
2.My HD accelerator still cannot play a 720dpi video file in window media player without chopping:

Can anyone play this without chopping?

Did you get the drivers directly from the Broadcom website? The max resolution on the HD is 1366x768. I have no problem playing 720p/1080p files in WMP 12 though.

I did... But I'm wondering if there is a difference between the regular 210 screen and the 210HD screen.
I go to graphic properties and there is not higher resolution option...

Does your's have any special broadcom software?

This is exactly my issue....It will play 1 in 10 times perfectly.
I ordered mine from china for $22 shipped. So I didn't expect too much.
It says USI BCM970012 on the front of the card on top of the heat wrap.

If we could get the OEM drivers for it (from HP's website), I think we'd be in business.

Don't you need the HD display for it to work at a higher resolution or am I missing something?

I have testet all kind of software setup for the Crystal HD to work. And i'm pretty sure that this is at hardware or bios problem in the HP mini 210. Maby a new bios can solve the problem.

    I have a pseudo-solution.
When you install the arcsoft total media theater from HP's drivers/downloads page, some driver is installed that allows all of the other media players to play the HD content smoothly 9/10 times.

I don't understand what you're asking, sorry. The difference between the regular 210 screen and the HD 210 screen is that one is 1024x600 and the other is 1366x768 native resolution. In other words, one screen is 720p native resolution (HD) and the other isn't.

There is no higher resolution option with a regular 210 screen because 1024x600 is the maximum resolution it can display. It's a hardware limitation. You can still play "720p" or "1080p" video, but it's not going to really be 720p/1080p resolution on your screen because a regular 210 screen cannot display those resolutions. If you download a 720p file and play it in fullscreen it's playing in 1024x768 resolution, not high definition. That being said, the media accelerator still improves the video performance even if the screen is lower resolution than the HD series.

Also keep in mind that the broadcom crystal HD card only supports certain media players and programs. Among these are WMP 12, Media Player Classic, Arcsoft Total Media Theater, Flash player 10.1, and some others listed on the broadcom website where the drivers are. Sorry if I didn't answer your question.
