Bought a 32GB SDHC Card, plan to put windows OS on it.

Hello Everyone....


I just bought a 32GB SDHC Card, and i am planning to put a windows OS on this card. Because i got the OSX snow leopard on the internal hard drive already. my internal hard drive is SSD 16gb and there is no room for me to do a dual boot, so i got this 32gb sdhc card for windows.

I was trying to install the windows XP on it this morning, but it seem that it wont allow me to do partition on it. have any of you here had any success install the windows OS on this card yet?

I have not try windows 7 or Windows Vistar yet.... I will try it tomorrow when i have time. please let me know if you have any success...

1) you can install it on your 8/16Gb SSD (the second one on your EeePC), then run Norton Ghost to copy that partition directly to the SD card. It will mark the partition as bootable thus, you can choose it to boot in the bios (or by pressing esc during bios POST)

2a) putting windows 7 on the SD card to install on the SSD is possible, by doing the following on another pc:

(the main issue here is to make that SD card "bootable".

2b) windows xp is another issue. Unlike Windows vista/windows 7, it does not allow direct medium boot (i.e. booting up a setup from hard drive). You would need to use BartPE or other utilities to do so.

3) no bios update needed.
