If by stutterring you mean where the video looks likw someone is doing an intermittent fast forward & back I did see 2 times that this occurred. Otherwise very clean and clear video of the singer... Same thing happens on my HP DV 65xxx with Nvidia and a 22" aux viewsonic monitor... Do you mean that the lack of HD that's "promised" in April?? that causes that? I first played them with Nero Showtime and after the player reminded me to adjust my video I went to control panel and changed my screen resolution to option 2 and set it to 1280 x 1024 pixels and it liked that but still the 2 times for stuttering Is that what you wanted to find out? Thinking it might be the software I converted the flv to wmv and ran them thru WMP11 and results the same...

    1. saved to hard drive or ram - played
    2. streaming and playing at same time (harder on bus)
    3. battery profile (speedstep or not)

makes a difference but honestly my $299 delloutlet pc (Q6600,3gb,vista home, ati 3650hd) plays with zero frame skips at about 15% cpu max with speedstep on aggressive.

to me 720p means you can watch anything. like the matrix action sequences with zero frame drop. it's all or nothing. 2 dropped frames and pegged out bus(cpu/etc) means its not 720p.

and quite honestly i think to call yourself 720 you must have a display with at least 720 lines 1024x600 is not a 720p display; 1280x720 is required to do 720p

I know I'm not a 2140 owner.. but I had to try the videos on my quad core desktop PC. I think that video is a bad example... it looks like it has some freeze frame action built into it? some some funky parts that go in reverse and forward. Regardless of the built in stuttering I still saw it pause a moment when I saw my hard drive going. It has been my general experience that all of the YouTube/Hulu type of players just don't perform optimally on almost any hardware.

I wonder if there are some other examples that could be tried out?

I know the machine can play much better video quality.

I know my machine isn't the fastest in the world.... but it is *certainly* faster then the 2140.

Im pretty sure thats the problem is the 2140 doesnt have Atleast discrete graphics :\ and without it you cant watch it smoothly without bumps or w/e you want to call them.

watch your cpu load. if you ever spike one cpu all the way up, frame drop.

when i watched the vid on q6600 i had maybe 1 green bar per core

i wonder if hyperthreading decreases performance.

also are you using flash9 or flash10? loads of issues with flash10 - apphangb1 and other ie8 hangs (on xp).

Even the NC10 with the discrete card had problems... unless you run a special codec that delegates out to the card...

The NC10 has the same integrated graphics as the HP Mini 1000's and 2140's, which is Intel GMA 950 which only gives 64mb of dedicated ram I think, But if it had lets say Intel GMA X4500HD or ATI Mobility Radeon HD3410 which both gives 265mb of dedicated ram it will probably run smoothly.

Also tbh I have no idea what a "special codec that delegates out to the card" is/means lol

I can't find the exact review right now -- but I read that it even had problems with 720p -- until the reviewer tried a software codec that delegated to the video card. Remember-- most video cards are designed to speed up 3D graphics... not decode every one of the fancy video formats that keep coming out. I mean there are dozens of them! So in this case -- someone wrote a piece of software that decoded the particular video using the custom instruction set of the nvidia card -- and once you use it.. then it can offload the work from the CPU onto the GPU.
