2140 MIE ?

Think Vista isn't that great, I mean on a netbook. But I'm pretty sure that with the Vista, MS will give you an upgrade to Windows 7 when it actually comes out...MS has said so.

An upgrade "Path" maybe I doubt they will give it for free though.

XP works perfect with netbooks, untill windows 7 comes out ill stick with xp

Vista in my opinion is a little too big for a netbook. I love it but it has its place. Stick with xp or 7

As i stated in the first post on here The Hp Mini 2140 will come with

SuSE lunux Enterprise Desktop 10

no MI Edition.

Does not come with it installed but I might try loading soon as I get my 2140 next week.

I plan on trying it when mine comes in too. My only concern at this point is that historically all HP restore images look to the system bios for the model and part numbers which are usually stamped there. these are checked and if you dont match the allowable valuse you will get a message similar to "The restore disk is not designed for use on your system. Please verify this is the correct disk for your system or contact hp support"

I have never tried a linux restore before though, only MS products so they may not be as strict since MS isn't pointing a gun at them.

Can anyone who has a 2140 open their bios and see if there is a part, model and serial number stamp within it?
