I'm looking for a high-end netbook to use as a browser and for occasional business trips (it would be used as a Remote Desktop device, no crunching involved). We bought the wife a 1030NR back in the spring and really like it, so I came back to HP to look for mine. I'm restricted to buying from Best Buy - I have $350 in accumulated gift cards to use toward this purchase.
I was all set to get a 2140 based on the reviews, but now I have to wonder - would I do better with a 5101? I'm not sure I care for that chicklet keyboard and I'm worried about keyboard flex. But, the 5101 is newer (slightly) and in production, whereas the 2140 is end of life.
I prefer the aesthetics of the 2140, but I'm trying to be practical - plus the 5101 is much cheaper. I'd give up Vista Biz/XP Pro in the 5101, but it looks like the 2140 isn't eligible for a free Win7 upgrade anyway.
