I recently transformed my HP Mini 110-1008 successfully to use Mac OS X 10.5.5 through iDeneb 1.3 following closely the instructions on this forum and the OSXHPMini website. Everything seems to be in order (at OS X 10.5.5), except the screen resolution is a measly 640x480. So, following the activity on this forum, it looks like a update to 10.5.8 should solve this screen resolution issue.
So I software updated 10.5.8, used terminal to scale windows at 80% to allow me to click "Agree" and tried installing it, but it stood at Configuring Installation for about a half-hour. I didn't wait around long after, so I forced shut down and rebooted to see that everything was still intact. Some discussions on Apple recommend using the standalone updater to cure the long Configuring Installation wait.
Here's my question, should I or is it possible to use the standalone 10.5.8 combo update from Apple instead of going through Software Update?
