[MINI700] After Windows7 install my mini burn...

    hello guys!
I have my new mini from 1 week about.

I've removed XP after 1 day about and installed win7 rc1

now my mini700 (in energy-save profile), remain silent about 10 min., and after that the fan goes to an higher speed and higher temperature...

...if I install a 2gb kingston ram, win7 eat more memory and the temperature goes more hotter..

...i hate XP but I think that this O.S. is more "fresh" for this mini...

    anyone could confirm my experience?

    sorry for my horrible english!

Well, honestly, I have used Windows 7, and I think that it is more 'snappy' feeling. As for the RAM usage, I don't know. But it isn't terrible.

Using 2GB of RAM will definitely result to higher temperature because it requires more power. Windows 7 does use more memory than XP, but not much, and even then, using memory resources doesn't affect the temperature.

I've experienced increase in temperature with the Mini 1000 + 2GB RAM (or practically any netbook with 2GB of RAM, and the RAM is located directly at the bottom), but it isn't something that I worry about. It's normal.

Windows 7 scales its memory usage based on how much memory you have installed. If you have 2gb of memory it will cache more system files in memory than if you had 512-1gb of memory.

The general approach in Vista/7 was that unused memory was wasted memory... where Vista took this too far, Windows 7 seems to do it just right.

Yes Windows 7 is really a very good O.S. It has more improved graphics more improved software support but this all thing requires more memory usage so because of this windows 7 is not as good on high configuration as minis. windows XP is good option for mini users. We could get good graphics in XP too. there are so many themes available which could make our PC look like windows 7 or good then it.
